On March 1, 2025, Jordan van Bergen launched 4non-profit, a new community dedicated to helping charities save money. But what sets this initiative apart, and what does it mean for the non-profit sector?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>The man behind the mission<\/h2>\r\nTo understand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.4non-profit.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">4non-profit<\/a>, we need to look at its founder, Jordan van Bergen. Back in 1999, as a private donor, he discovered that very little of his online donation actually reached the intended charity. The website he used was funded entirely by the donations it processed. This eye-opener inspired more than two decades of advocacy through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donateursbelangen.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stichting Donateursbelangen<\/a>, leaving a significant mark on Dutch philanthropy.\r\n<h2>From GeefGratis to Donateursbelangen<\/h2>\r\nVan Bergen has helped channel over \u20ac150 million into the Dutch non-profit sector through platforms such as Geef.nl (the first crowdfunding site for Dutch charities), TechSoup Netherlands, and #GivingTuesday Netherlands. While these projects still exist, they are no longer under the umbrella of Stichting Donateursbelangen. The foundation&#8217;s origins date back to 2001 with the creation of Stichting GeefGratis (now Stichting Donateursbelangen), which aimed to build trust between donors and charities. As Van Bergen explains: \u201cNon-profits can sign the Donor Promise free of charge, showing donors they communicate openly, honestly, and transparently.\u201d\r\n<h2>The time is right for 4non-profit<\/h2>\r\nThe launch of 4non-profit is timely. With TechSoup shifting to full U.S. control as of June 15, 2025, a gap opened in the market. TechSoup works primarily with large international companies and selected global partners, focusing on software and tech. 4non-profit fills that gap by not only including existing providers but also partnering with Dutch service companies committed to corporate social responsibility and eager to support local non-profits.\r\n<h2>The benefits of 4non-profit<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Local focus:<\/strong> While global programs often rely on international suppliers, 4non-profit gives Dutch companies the opportunity to support local charities with accessible, quality services.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>No membership fees:<\/strong> Unlike platforms that hide savings behind paywalls, 4non-profit offers full access for free. Only optional services, such as job listings or extra promotion, require payment.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Centralized savings:<\/strong> Instead of searching multiple platforms for discounts, non-profits can find all current savings in one place. Over 40 savings programs are already available, with a goal to reach 100+ by 2026.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Community support:<\/strong> Beyond savings, 4non-profit offers a forum where non-profit professionals can connect, share knowledge, and support each other.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Available savings<\/h2>\r\n4non-profit already serves 490 non-profit organizations and collaborates with five Dutch service partners, including:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustguard.eu\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trust Guard<\/a>:<\/strong> 25% discount on all web security services, including trust marks to demonstrate site safety.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>PayByLink:<\/strong> 50% discount on payment link solutions\u2014ideal for charities handling online donations or invoicing with QR codes.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Nexis Newsdesk by LexisNexis:<\/strong> 25% off professional media monitoring\u2014perfect for comms and PR teams at larger non-profits.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Nalaten met Impact:<\/strong> Discounts of 10\u201320% depending on the number of issues an organization participates in for this national legacy giving magazine.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>RenewLaptop.nl:<\/strong> On top of already competitive prices, members receive an additional 5% discount on sustainable laptops.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>DonateursBelangen Badge:<\/strong> Free for organizations that sign the Donor Promise.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nHans Bouman, owner of PayByLink, shared why his company joined the initiative: \u201cWe have a soft spot for charities, and we\u2019re proud to support them through 4non-profit.\u201d\r\n<h2>A community beyond discounts<\/h2>\r\nVan Bergen envisions 4non-profit as more than just a discount hub: \u201cMany non-profits face challenges due to limited resources and expertise.
